Dr. Gregg Hammond is an author, retired occupational therapist, and army colonel veteran. He has a Ph.D. in Adult and Continuing Education with a cognate in Rural Sociology from Kansas State University and BS and MS degrees from Indiana University. His first novel, The Jenische Stones, was published by Armin Lear in 2024.

For his service in Vietnam and Iraq, Dr. Hammond was awarded the Army Combat Action Badge, the Marine Corps Combat Action Ribbon, two Bronze Star Medals (for Meritorious service), the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, and the Legion of Merit Medal. He is a graduate of the Naval War College.

Dr. Hammond taught behavioral health in the occupational therapy curriculum at Indiana Wesleyan University and has also worked with affiliate students for over four decades. In his 40 years of work as a therapist, Dr. Hammond became interested in how ethical personal behavior affects health, relationships, and the lives of others. He now lives on a small farm near Peru, Indiana.

Elaina partnered with Gregg to write The Jenische Stones and is listed as an editor. She serves as co-author for The Jenische Blood.

Elaina has been writing professionally since 2011 and is the owner of The Book Clinic, a boutique writing and editing company. Many of her clients have gone on to sell tens of thousands of copies of their books, place on bestseller lists, acquire publishing contracts, and win literary awards.

Elaina holds a master's degree from the University of Michigan and a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California, both in vocal performance. In addition to singing and teaching voice at the Purdue School of Music, she has recently started recording audiobooks, including the audiobook version of The Jenische Stones. Her German skills, including an intermediate certification from the Zentrum für Deutsche Sprache in Frankfurt, give her special insight int the language aspect of the German Baptist Brethren community in the series.

Elaina lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana, very near the small farming community where Gregg lives and where The Jenische Stones takes place. In addition to her other activities, she co-owns Hungry Dog Farm, a small and biodiverse vegetable and flower farm, with her husband.
